ASO Ebenezer Concert

Location: Ebeneezer Baptist Church

The summer of 2008 will be the 10th season for the ASO/NBAF collaborative performance at Ebenezer Baptist Church. The Church performances conducted by Music Director Robert Spano feature a partnership with the Sphinx Organization, a nationally renowned program that supports young African-American and Latino classical musicians, and the ASO’s own Talent Development Program, which cultivates young musical artists from our region. These inspiring concerts have become a tradition in Atlanta and are recognized by diverse audiences that come together to experience music in a unique historical setting.

The National Black Arts Festival and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra continue their annual partnership to present a community concert at Ebenezer Baptist Church on historic Auburn Avenue. The concert features young musicians from the ASO Talent Development Program and the Detroit based Sphinx Competition. Both Sphinx and the ASO/TDP nurture talent in Black and Latino communities in the classical music genre. Sphinx has a special emphasis on string instruments.
