"I Have a Dream" Collision Project
The Collision Project consists of a new play "devised" by a group of high school students (specially selected though interviews) working with a nationally renowned playwright, Rosemary Newcott: Artistic Director of Theatre for Youth, and members of the Alliance Theatre artistic and education staff. Through this dynamic project, metro Atlanta teens create theatre for and about themselves by colliding with a classic text during a three-week summer workshop culminating in a public performance. Our hope is that the 2008 Collision Project will focus on the words of an American Civil Rights leader.
The Performances are July 19 @ 1pm and 4pm on the Alliance Theatre Hertz Stage. The audience dialogue and discussion will follow the 1pm performance. Both shows are free and open to the public.
