Fataki Family
With family origins in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Fatakis currently live in Atlanta and are looking forward to their participation in The Atlanta Dialogue because they believe that “communication among people and nations brings about understanding of one another, open mindedness, appreciation, growth, progress, freedom and peace.”

Ubaka Family
Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, a number of the Ubaka family members lived in California prior to settling in Atlanta. A family love of history and the arts led them to their participation in The Atlanta Dialogue, which they believe will be “great bonding” for them all.

LeePow Family
Residents of Mableton, the Anderson Family’s roots are in New Jersey and Trinidad and Tobago. They have joined The Atlanta Dialogue in order to “participate in efforts for Atlanta to being to actually live the diversity it articulates” and to “learn more about community from [an] artistic perspective.”

Shipman Family
Georgia natives, the Shipman’s live in Alpharetta and have been involved with the National Black Arts Festival since its inception. They are hoping their participation in The Atlanta Dialogue will help them to become more active in the arts.

Patterson Family
The Patterson family lives in Atlanta and its members are regular attendees at arts events throughout the metro area. As a family, they “enjoy arts in all forms and are excited at the opportunity” to participate in The Atlanta Dialogue.

Scott Family
The Scott family moved to Atlanta from Jackson, Mississippi, in the early 1900s and have lived in the city since that time. They are strong supporters of the arts and are involved with both the High Museum and the True Colors Theater Company. The Scott’s are participating in The Atlanta Dialogue to “add our voices to the dialogue about the importance of the arts to our community.”

Akbar Family
The Akbar family’s story begins on the Philippine Islands and moves to California with roots in New Orleans as well. Before moving to Atlanta, they lived in Denver, Colorado. With an appreciation for all cultures and the arts, The Atlanta Dialogue is great time to experience new things and most of all learn more about each other.
